Pipelines to Possibilities is aimed at Changing the Face of Academia – through continued collaboration, skill development, and equity driven programming aimed at recruiting, and retaining California community colleges faculty.
P2P fosters the development of incoming faculty through graduate internships as well as through California community college faculty mentoring opportunities. Faculty mentors, in sharing their knowledge and expertise, support P2P cohorts in understanding the complexities of the California community college system and provide strategies to enhance employment success in finding a faculty position upon graduation
The program, in collaboration with California community college faculty mentors, will provide graduate interns with training in the following areas:
- Developing a lens focused on diversity
- Equity and inclusion classroom practices
- Tools for assessment of student learning outcomes
- Develop skills and tools for career development
- Strategies for providing student retention for the success of a diverse student population
